Climate Data
The two weather stations in Colusa
County are located in Colusa and
Williams. Of these, Colusa reports
slightly more precipitation with an
annual average of 16.4 inches, while
Williams has an average 15.6 inches each
year. This makes Colusa County an ideal
place for agriculture. The following
figure shows the average temperatures
and precipitation rates in winter and
summer for each weather station in the
country.
Air Quality
Colusa County is located in the middle
of the Sacramento Valley air basin,
along with eleven other counties
(Shasta, Tehama, Glenn, Butte, Yuba,
Sutter, Yolo, Placer, Sacramento, and
the eastern part of Solano County).
According to the Air Resources Board,
the vehicle miles reveled has increased
95 percent over the last twenty years
throughout the air basin.
Delta breezes
blowing north from Sacramento often
carry air pollution towards Colusa
County and east into the Sierra Nevada
Foothills. While air pollution has
declined overall in the basin over the
last twenty years, ozone has not
declined as rapidly as other areas of
California. As of 2005, air pollutants
in Colusa County have not reached
attainment status for meeting state and
federal standards.
